Weekly Summary: WEEK FOUR
Week four has been a little challenging; however, I enjoyed the challenges at the same time. Over the years, I am loosing my photography skills, and I cancelled my Adobe Creative Cloud membership. So, the assignments this week motivated me to get back into some of the things I used to do! I am thinking to take a photography class when I graduate. Also, probably get back into learning Adobe in the future. I enjoy this class, but the work is overwhelming and tedious. Also, I am taking three other classes, so I feel like I am slammed with a ton of bricks every week.
I always like to start off with completing the Assignment Bank assignments as usual. I did enjoy the visual assignments more than the writing assignments even though it was a bit more challenging. This week, all of the assignments combined have to have at least a total of twelve stars. The assignments I chose were The Life Of A Superhero (2 stars), Colorize It (3 stars), ComboPhoto (3 stars), and Design To Shock (4 stars). I enjoyed completing all of the assignments, but the Design To Shock assignment was probably the most challenging. I had to download the editing software GIMP. GIMP is very similar to Adobe Illustrator. I think Illustrator is much better than GIMP. I was remembering a little bit of what I learned from my graphic design class and exploring the software. I am happy about the final result. I provided a link to my assignment bank post below!
The daily creates this week were fairly easy to do. I enjoyed completing all three daily creates. The three assignments that I chose were Make A Monochromatic Image Of A Place Nearby. Add An Animal For Extra Points, Paint It Kaleidoscope Style, and Comic Caption Contest 5. I loved the Kaleidoscope Painting because every design was not only beautiful and colorful, but every design is different and unique because it’s never the same. I had a hard time brainstorming for the Comic Caption Contest create. Finally, I was able to think of a storyline and made it into a caption. I think my caption is super funny, but also morbid at the same time. I provided a link to my Daily Creates post below!
Reflecting on my previous photography journey made me miss my photojournalism class. This week really inspired me and reminded me that I do love the digital studies aspect. I sometimes get really frustrated with the process, but that’s why I like doing the assignments that I WANT on my OWN without a DEADLINE. I get to spend as much time as I want and really explore outside of class. Overall, these assignments made me really miss capturing beautiful photos. Additionally, I am continuing to like and comment on other students’ work! I submitted my top three posts of this week! Best of luck to the winner!📸🏆👍🏻
